the new UGG Highkoo

I’ve been thinking about statements lately. It seems like we all like to make some distinct impression on the people we meet, be it a new friend or a stranger on the UGG Boots. We make verbal statements to identify our cultural background, marital status, or age bracket. We also make visual statements based on how we hold ourselves, our clothing, our manner of walking and gesturing.
Studies show that 60% of the information we receive from others is based on nonverbals and body language.? On top of that only 10% of any communication is processed through the words you say. Based on that information, verbal statements don’t mean that much.
So let’s focus on visual statements. A good portion of visual statements are going to be based on your personality and how you approach the world. If you stand tall (whether you’re 5 foot or 6′1″), if you gesture emphatically or sit on your hands, whether you fidget or sit still. All these things say something about you. But that’s only part of the visual. There’s also what you wear. A Chanel suit says something very different about your tastes than a rocker skirt from Hot Topic.
I’ve been thinking about what statement I want to make with what I wear. I like length in clothing, and I always find it striking when I see someone wearing an item of clothing that is longer or more voluminous than average. Tube top floor length dresses, thigh high boots, knee length scarves: anything that draws the eye to take in the full lenght of the body wearing it is impressive in some way.
Such accessories and style choices are not always sensible, of course. Floor length dresses are easy to trip on and we all know how Isadora Duncan met her fate wearing one of those long flowy scarves.
Overwhelming statements can be wonderful, but sometimes it’s good to go halfway. If the thigh high boot seems a bit much, how about the UGG Raya? The heel immediately grabs attention, and the silhouette of the boot draws the eyes upward to acknowledge the rest of the leg. There is also the new UGG Highkoo, in it’s unassuming low heel and slouch, it’s just high up enough the calf to grab some attention.10luoyuejun0331
